End Of Life Care
Sadly, part of animal ownership also includes end of life. This may come about from old age, injury or for welfare reasons. Either way, we appreciate how challenging this can be.
Our veterinary surgeons at Central Equine Vets are all fully trained in intravenous injection and will be able to provide extensive and sympathetic advice on this procedure to horse owners.
Where this procedure is pre-planned, an appointment is made with your veterinary surgeon. Please be re-assured that this procedure cannot be rushed and our vets take great care over ensuring that it goes smoothly for you and your horse. Some owners prefer not to be present during the appointment, however you are of course very welcome to be, and our vets can talk you through each stage of the procedure, so that you can fully understand when your horse is finally at rest and what to expect.
Our friendly office team can provide options for where you horse goes once the procedure has been carried out and are able to provide this information upon request. On request, they can also organise this part of the process on your behalf to assist you during this difficult time.
Should you wish for alternative methods for your horses end of life care, please contact the practice who will be able to offer further information regarding this.
